The San Francisco Fetish Ball: March 18-21

The San Francisco Fetish Ball was a marathon of fetish fun over three days in March. The festivities began on Thursday evening with a gallery reception featuring photographs by Paige White at Madame S Leather. Co-producers Tchukon Hunter and Ms. White welcomed friends and out-of-towners at this casual cocktail kick- off.
Friday night was Club Enslaved, the event for players by players at Studio Z. Fetish Diva Midori's bondage suspension performance transformed Ivy Red, Kumi Monster and Miss Conduct into an elaborate human mobile. Aerialist Chain Goddess dangled and arabesqued from loops of heavy metal. And the stunning Masuimi Max was a living doll in a French maid uniform. There was dancing to Boston's DJ Arana and things got sexy and spanky in a side dungeon furnished by Mr. S Leather.
Saturday was the grand finale, the Fetish Ball, held at the enormous and elegant Gift Mart, an awe-inspiring four-story space with stage views from all points. The fetish and formalwear was most impressive, with everything from elaborate masks and headpieces by Michael Manning to electronic screen displays, period 40s and civil war garb to the more traditional latex, leather and corsets. Stage performances included fashion shows by Madame S, Puimond and Torture Garden, dance by Serpentium; a breathtaking suspension duet by Masuimi Max and her partner Allen Falkner of Traumatic Stress Discipline; and the raunchy, raucous J-Lube wrestling between Masuimi Max and Sasha Monet, which eventually wound up as a greasy six-girl free-for-all. Even MC Paul Nathan was pulled into the pool! All the while people were promenading in their finery on the first few floors, there was an exclusive men's play space on the top floor, where San Francisco's hardcore leather boys could do their thing in private. They, too, had a view of the stage and dance floor from their testosterone-only aerie.
The after party was held in a private space a few blocks from the Gift Center dubbed Club -0-, and it lasted long into the night. Creatively appointed chill spaces and plushie-filled makeout rooms offered plenty of atmosphere for people to get smoochy. In one room, things were getting particularly out of hand, with panty worship and knee sucking being hilariously captured on digital cameras. As the sun rose over SoMa, the San Francisco fetishists were still making merry.
