China Club provided the exotic locale for Leda and Carrie’s tribute to the Goddess Kali—mother as creator and destroyer. The “Mother’s Day” celebration featured performances on all three floors, designed to honor all aspects of the Feminine. Mistress of ceremonies Abby Ehmann started the evening with Mistress Sonia and Mistress Luna demonstrating safe SM technique from Positive Health Project’s Safe SM Handbook - always a penetrating performance from that troop! Upstairs, guests were dazzled by misty midtown manhattan views, as P-Cult, Subculture Array, and Den of Iniquity showcased flames, fashion and bullwhipping. Angel Baby held court and her many V.I.P. admirers captive in her Hookah Lounge, designed by Troy Morgan and Suzanne. Shelly Watson brought the crowd to their knees downstairs with her powerful ‘Nessum Dorma’ finale to Gaelyn & Cianfarani’s hot rubber fashion show. The same stage hosted bands ‘Hate in the Box’, ‘All the Pretty Horses’, and Shane Savant as well as Kate Rigg of ‘Chick-o-Rama’ fame. Leda orchestrated the roof top sacrifice, ‘Burata—Sanctified Time’, with Persephone as the blue Goddess Kali, dancing by Maine, and Fire by Rowan, Violet Sweet and Leda.

‘Alchemist’s Glass’ was the theme of this ten year Ball anniversary where the guests shone just as brightly as the performers. The enthuastic crowd enabled the producers to donate $1000. each to PHP (see this page) and National Coalition for Sexual Freedom (www.ncsfreedom.org). Demask graciously rubberized hot stage acts such as Kate Rigg and Alice Ridley, while Marilyn of Chicago concocted pretty poisons and opera singer Chistine Matavich sang from an elevated cage. Lola of NYC was surounded by voyuers as she undertook a multiple piercing, and hook suspension scene that laced up the back!
